AccessABILITY is a Disability Rights organization serving Indianapolis and the seven surrounding counties. We provide individual consumers, governmental agencies, corporations and other non-profits with the tools necessary to ensure the acceptance, respect and inclusion of everyone. The result is that our communities are enriched through the full participation of ALL PEOPLE.
We are consumer-driven:
Counties we serve are: Boone, Johnson, Hamilton, Hancock, Hendricks, Marion, Morgan and Shelby
Our Mission: To empower our peers with disabilities to lead and control independent lives fully included in community life.
We make life for families caring for a child with a life-threatening condition "normal" again by helping them gain back moments of positive, family-shared experiences and memories.
Anna's Celebration of Life Foundation
Anna’s Celebration of Life Foundation (ACOLF) was inspired by a young Anna Molloy, a little girl born with a rare genetic disorder who wanted to ensure that other children with special needs were afforded the joy of “celebrating their specialness” by providing them with life-enhancing gifts needed to thrive. Our mission is to provide life-enhancing gifts to Indiana children with special needs. Our vision is that the lives of all children with special needs are celebrated.
Founded by a Duchenne mom, Best Day Ever Foundation is on a mission to extinguish Duchenne while also helping families who have been touched by a life-threatening diagnosis LIVE life - one BEST DAY EVER at a time! Best Day Ever Foundation works hard to create partnerships and relationships within the local community to help families live their BEST days. Best Day Ever Foundation also hosts a monthly social and educational event to allow Indiana DMD families to connect while learning more about Indiana Medicaid Waivers and other topics of interest to Indiana DMD families! Indiana Medicaid Waivers
We help Indiana children diagnosed with life-threatening illnesses create a lifetime of memories when that lifetime is uncertain. For nearly four decades, Indiana Wish has supported the dreams of Hoosier children—blanketing the entire state of Indiana with hope.
With the INvestABLE Indiana, you can save for qualified disability expenses without losing your eligibility for certain assistance programs, like SSI and Medicaid. Eligible individuals can open the account for themselves, or an authorized individual can open an account on their behalf.
Mobility Aids Lending Library (Bloomington, IN)
"Mobility Aids Lending Library (MALL) provides free medical and mobility devices, including canes, walkers, scooters, and wheelchairs, to people who need them. We primarily serve Bloomington, IN and Monroe County. Residents of adjacent counties are welcome to donate or pick up equipment at our downtown Bloomington storage facility, but we have limited ability to deliver items outside the county."
Muscular Dystrophy Family Foundation (MDFF)
Since the 1950s, the Muscular Dystrophy Family Foundation has been making great things happen—helping individuals get what they need to live each day to the fullest and maintain the dignity we all strive to achieve. While advancements and treatments provide hope, our immediate goal continues to be to provide families with the equipment and services they need to eliminate some of the day-to-day challenges that go with living with neuromuscular diseases. MDFF provides essential items like wheelchairs, hospital beds, vans, van lifts, ramps for homes, bathroom modifications, and showers.
